The short version
Choose the buffet sailing for a relaxed evening with a show, and the five-course sailing for a plated dinner at the table. Both leave Pier 8 on the same ship.
Dinner
The buffet is Pacific Rim with a roast beef carving station. The five-course menu is built around steak and Maine lobster.
Drinks
You get one signature Mai Tai on the buffet sailing. The five-course sailing includes two premium beverages and a welcome "champagne" toast.
Time on the water
The buffet sailing runs 2 to 3 hours and the five-course sailing 2 to 3.5 hours; the five-course sailing is a two-hour sunset cruise with an extra hour on Fridays.
Dress and access
The five-course sailing is smart casual and asks for 48 hours' notice for wheelchair access. The buffet sailing suits comfortable clothes.
The tie-breaker
If the evening marks an occasion, the five-course sailing gives you the pier-side hula and the toast. If it is a family night out, the buffet keeps things easy.
